Dive Site overview

Cape Town has a wide variety of dive sites suitable for all levels of diving – from shallow reef and wreck dives to deep and unexplored Trimix expedition dives.

Every weekend we explore the extensive and colourful reefs that our cooler waters have to offer, however wreck diving is our primary focus, as we have hundreds of wrecks just waiting to be dived in and around Cape Town. These range from historical to modern to fishing trawler to warship to oil tanker. The majority of these shipwrecks around our coastline can be attributed to the weather that gave rise to the name of “The Cape of Storms”, however we also have numerous ships (both shallow and deep) that were scuttled to form artificial reefs.

When conducting recreational dives, we ensure that you are able to dive on all your local favourites, yet aim to introduce you to a variety of new or alternative dive sites, so that you do not become bored with all the usual spots.

For all the tech divers, we strive to dive the deeper, less dived on wrecks in and around Cape Town. Although several of the sites listed below are classified as virgin wrecks (as these have not been accurately located and dived on), we continuously undertake to locate and dive these wrecks. We have recently had success in locating a previously undiscovered deep wreck in Table Bay and even during our weekend trips away (see Dive Charters) we have dived on some very seldomly dived on wrecks. Wreck penetration on the wrecks is also naturally a big draw card, however you need to ensure that you are adequately trained. Our NAUI Wreck Penetration Course is by far the most comprehensive such course that is on offer in Cape Town.

Below is a listing of selected wreck dives that we view as the leading dives in Cape Town. Due to the vast amount of reef dives in Cape Town, we have purposely not included such in our listing, but should you require any information on any of the shallow reef dives, feel free to contact us. Several of the shallower wrecks dives are also clearly aimed at our recreational divers and we often run charters to these sites (as well as all the reefs).
