Dive Charters
We own and operate a 8.5m semi-rigid rubber duck with twin 85hp Yamaha outboard engines, which also features the latest navigational equipment. "Underwater Explorer" is certified for 16 persons and is very suitable for local diving conditions. Whilst our primary focus for the majority of our launches is on the recreational diver, we also cater for technical divers needs, from shallow build-up dives to expedition style tech dives.
We carry extensive emergency equipment, including free flow and demand valve oxygen (sufficient to support two divers for a minimum of two hours), VHF radios and SAMSA certified skippers who are all First Aid / CPR / DAN O2 certified. We are also the first and only DAN Diving Safety Partner operator in Cape Town - a testament to our diving safety objectives.
Our main focus is wreck diving, however the amazing colours and variety of the marine life in Cape waters is truly amazing - why don't you join us and see for your self.... We are a friendly bunch of divers and our aim is to ensure you have fun diving, no matter what the subject matter of the dive. Our rates are also very competitive and won't break the bank. To make your boat diving even more affordable, we also offer prepaid "boat dive cards" - contact us for more detail on how much you can save.
We launch every weekend and public holiday, with regular tech dives mainly taking place on Saturdays. The launch sites will vary according to the weather, however the summer launch sites will generally be Hout Bay Harbour or Oceana Powerboat Club (next to the Waterfront), whilst in winter Millers Point just outside Simonstown will be the preferred choice. Whilst we are based in Cape Town, we regularly run out of town expeditions up the West and East coasts, thereby ensuring that our divers get to dive on unusual and interesting sites. Join our weekly e-mail list to receive updates as to the dive sites for the weekend and for the dive trips.
For recreational dives the maximum amount of divers that we permit to dive at any one time is 10. For the vast majority of dives we will always put a shot line in to assist with your ascent and descent and have a firm policy against anchoring the boat, thereby ensuring that the boat is "live", so as to assist you at any stage of the dive.
In respect of shallow tech dives, numbers are limited to 6 bottom divers and safety personnel, whilst in respect of expedition dives, the number is limited to 3 divers and 1 safety diver.
A dedicated shot line (with strobe and lift bag) is utilised on all tech dives and divers have a choice of either free floating deco, a simple deco station, or for serious dives a more complex station including various staged deco cylinders and hydration systems if so required.
